Class Teacher & Literacy Lead

Overview

Woodmansterne School & Sixth Form is set within a diverse and vibrant community. As a school we benefit from a rich variety of cultures and traditions which form the bedrock of our inclusive ethos. We are looking to appoint an exceptional Class Teacher and Literacy Lead who shares our values and determination to deliver an excellent, inclusive education to our young people, from Nursery to Year 13.

 

Personal attributes

We are looking to appoint an excellent Class Teacher and Literacy Lead with:

  • a proven track record in improving pupil literacy levels and confidence;
  • recent experience of working in a diverse school setting, delivering high quality adaptive teaching and supporting pupils where literacy is a barrier;
  • experience or knowledge of delivering effective intervention programmes which support improvements in pupil outcomes;
  • experience of delivering impactful whole school professional development to teachers and/or learning support staff;
  • an understanding of how children learn and the complexities of this process;
  • the skills to work successfully as part of a team, establishing effective working relationships and flexible working practices;
  • experience of following direction and working in collaboration with colleagues, parents, pupils and the school community;
  • is kind, positive and committed to the school’s inclusive ethos, can-do attitude; 
  • is reliable, flexible and calm, able to work under pressure and manage change effectively.
